10 Best Things To Do in Bali

According to Trip Advisor and Insider, Bali, Indonesia is one destination to visit in 2017. I have been itching for a change of scenery, with my birthday coming up, I couldn’t decide between two locations – Iceland or Bali, after several weeks I came across Travel Noire a platform for likeminded solo travelers who like to travel without having to plan your own itinerary and make connections with other beautiful solo travelers. I had been eyeing the Bali travel experience and finally took the plunge. I was practically a millionaire in Bali. The exchange rate from dollar to Rupiah is outstanding. The Balinese are loving, kind and most respectful people I’ve ever come across, as long as you respect their culture. This has been one of the best travel decisions I have taken. I have memories to cherish, new friends to travel with and came back refreshed, motivated and inspired. Without further chatting here ten things to do in Bali.

  1. Visit the Elephant Safari Park – This has been on my bucket and must do list. I got to feed, hug, ride and trek the elephant park located in Taro Park

  1. Visit a Balinese Temple and Village – This isn’t a vacation to just chill at beach. Engage, connect and explore Bali. With the Travel Noire team we visited a local temple where we learned about the intricate designs of the temple, learned how to tie a Sarong, checked out a local rice field, had coconut water, danced and played music with a Balinese family.

  1. Relax at Beach & Surf – The Seminyak beach in Kuta is an hour away from Ubud where we stayed. There so many things to do at the beach such as surfing lessons, boat cruise, shop or party at a local club. Best part was watching the sunset a the beach.

  1. Visit the Local Market – We stayed at the energetic city Ubud, which has one of the best and cheapest produce, clothing, spices and accessories. You would find a knock YSL purse here which I considered buying: D

  1. Take a Cooking Class – We attended a local cooking class at the Poan Bali. We cooked Balinese foods from scratch. It was refreshing and the host family were hilarious. The foods are fresh, even the coconut oil smelled different.

  1. Take a Batik Class – The Balinese people pride themselves in growing their own products. The batik studio we visited, showed us how to make our own batik designs from scratch to finish. It was great seeing how oils and wax are made and applied to fabric.

  1. Visit The Monkey Forest – The monkey forest is a site to see. It was a 10mins walk from our hotel in Ubud. I’m not to fond of monkeys, so I skipped this one. If you are like monkeys, then this is definitely something you will enjoy.

  1. Get Massages – You can get a massage anywhere in Bali from practically 10-15 dollars. I got a full body massage from head to toe and never felt the same.

  1. Visit the Rice Terraces – There is so much green scenery in Bali. We visited the rice terraces and saw how rice was grown. I grew up eating rice, it was nice to see how it is harvested.

  1. Do Yoga – Experience the eat, pray and love life here in Bali. Yoga classes are packed here and you can schedule your own private session. I was amazed by the flexibility of my yoga teacher.

There are so many things to do in Bali, I felt like I needed a second trip. I would like to visit a waterfall and go hiking. All in all, Bali, Indonesia is a great travel destination to rejuvenate your mind, soul, body and spirit.

Where is your next adventure?

With Love Always
